ABOUT THE SERAFEMME FESTIVAL - Serafemme Queer Women of Color Music Festival is a six-hour,17+ artist outdoor festival created in 2005 by producer Marquita Thomas to address the lack of visibility for lesbian and bisexual women of color artists. In just a few years, it has garnered an audience of hundreds and grasped the attention of women all over the world who enjoy its eclectic mix of music, spoken word & comedy. Grammy nominated & Tony award winners Nadirah Shakoor and Staceyann Chin have graced its stage and the response to the festival has been overwhelming. This year's festival is slated for August 17, 2008 at the West Hollywood Park Baseball field and it is sponsored in major part by the Lesbian Visibility Committee of the City of West Hollywood.
